Panic stop

A replay takes over your cursor and keyboard. You need a way out that always works.

Press ⌥⌘. and any running replay halts immediately — from any app, mid-drag, mid-typing. The shortcut is registered globally and doesn't depend on Tattletail being frontmost.

What stopping does

• Cancels the remaining events in the current pass
• Cancels remaining repeats and loops
• Releases any held modifier keys and mouse buttons
• Leaves the recording untouched

Stopping never leaves a modifier key stuck down. That's the part people worry about, and it's handled.

Hotkeys

The panic stop (⌥⌘.) and the schedule-a-replay shortcut (default ⌥⌘T) are configurable in Settings, and Tattletail warns you if a hotkey can't be registered because another app already owns it.
